SAVE YOUR STUFF! Seriously, back up everything before you start. Apple’s security is pretty tight, and once you put this new SSD in, you won’t be able to get anything off the old one. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
You’ll need a buddy Mac: After you put the new storage in, your Mac mini will need a little help from another Mac (one made in 2015 or later, even a “Hackintosh” will work). This is because your Mac mini will go into a special mode and need a software update.
